About Us

Tia West

Hi, I’m Tia West, a Senior Paralegal and founder of Ad Hoc Paralegal Services. I have over 30 years of experience in many areas of law ranging from medical malpractice to wrongful death, personal injury, TCPA litigation in all 50 states, and more. Living and working in a small community requires working in all areas of law, and the diversity of cases helped me discover my niche—probate and trust administration and estate planning.

Before launching Ad Hoc Paralegal Services, I worked directly for senior managing partners and firm owners in Longview and Dallas, Texas, and western Missouri.

Reporting directly to firm leaders gave me working knowledge of what it takes to run an effective, productive law office—from managing an office to conducting initial client interviews, running payroll, handling the day-to-day operations during the life of a case to preparing and assisting at trial. Before this I attended court reporting school for nearly four years before earning a degree in paralegal technology.

Working inside law firms of varying sizes and specialties gave me insight into an attorney’s biggest pain points. Time, efficiency, and accuracy are essential to running a profitable and sustainable firm.

Outside of my paralegal career, I’m proud to be a wife and the mother of twins and an active member of my community. I launched and coach my children’s school archery team and have been an elected school board member for 13 years. In 2008, I co-founded a non-profit, faith-based pregnancy center called Golden Valley Door of Hope.

Originally, I am from the Missouri Truman Lake area. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Missouri State University.

My husband and I have two sons. I serve my community through our church and Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a nonprofit organization that provides beds for children ages 3-17 who do not have a bed.

It is a privilege to serve alongside Tia. She is a lady of integrity, care, generosity, and highly competent in her areas of expertise.

I know how important it is to keep cases moving and that unlocking time in your day to grow the firm or pursue personal passions is valuable.

That inspired the creation of Ad Hoc Paralegal Services. My promise to you is a 3-to-5-day turnaround on most tasks, and I’ll let you know up-front if a particular case requires additional time.

The team regularly attends in-person and virtual seminars and shares critical updates with attorneys through one-on-one meetings, e-newsletters, and weekly meetings.
